Künstlerhaus Bethanien is an internationally renowned forum for contemporary art in Berlin. Established in 1974 as an artist-in-residence programme with workspaces for professional artists and exhibition spaces, it is dedicated to the advancement of contemporary visual arts and artists.
As part of its residency scheme, it aims to establish a lively dialogue between artists from various backgrounds and disciplines, and the public at large. To achieve these goals, the Künstlerhaus Bethanien organises a wide range of events ranging from monthly exhibition openings to private and public studio visits, the Open Studios.
We are pleased to announce this year’s first Open Studios event on March 1, from 7–10pm.
The artists participating in the International Studio Programme will open their studios to the public to provide insight into their artistic practice and current projects.
The following artists will be looking forward to your visit:
Andrea Brandão (Portugal), Guglielmo Castelli (Italy), David Escalona (Spain), Muriel Gallardo (Chile), Ahmed Ghoneimy (Egypt), Samira Hodaei (Iran), Kanako Ishii (Japan), Min Kyung Kam (Korea), Tomoko Kawai (Japan), Johan Österholm (Sweden), Josée Pedneault (Canada – Québec), Zahra Rashid (Norway), Andrei Renteria (USA), Ryu Biho (Korea), Tracey Snelling (USA), Tomoyuki Ueno (Japan), Ze Wei (R.O.C. Taiwan)
The event goes along with the opening at 7pm of the solo shows Falkenrot Prize 2018 by Jana Gunstheimer as well as Aneta Kajzer and Manuel Stehli, which will be shown in our gallery spaces from March 1 until March 25, 2018 (opening hours: Tue–Sun, 2–7pm).
