Open day, seminar, and fast lane applications: MA in Design Curating & Writing

To engage fully with new conceptions of design, new kinds of exhibition-making and writing are needed to make sense of its unfamiliar—and even invisible—qualities. For, just as design is atomising, so are the institutions and formats of our rapidly changing media landscape. Publishing, museums, and academia are reconceiving themselves beyond the book and the building as reconfigurable brands, communities, and platforms. Students of curating and design, therefore, need to be agile in how they negotiate this terrain, and fluent in multiple media—that range from augmented reality videography and choose-your-own-adventure chat-bot coding to open-source collaborative editing.

Join us at Design Academy Eindhoven on January 16, 2018 for a chance to meet tutors and students of the MA in Design Curating & Writing, tour the facilities, and participate in a seminar discussion about the new tools, formats and ideas being experimented with in the programme. Please register here.

Design Academy Eindhoven, 5th floor

10:30am: Doors open 
11am–12pm: Introduction to the Design Academy Eindhoven Masters, and individual departments by all four Master heads and their alumni
12pm: Tour of Academy and Design Curating & Writing department led by current students 
2–4pm: “New Tools, Formats & Ideas”: Presentations by, and discussion with, Design Curating & Writing tutors and students, including department head Alice Twemlow, curator Agata Jaworska, and editor Nick Axel, followed by fast lane selection for Design Curating & Writing applicants
4pm: Drinks and bites
