The 14th edition of Fotonoviembre, the International Photography Festival of Tenerife, directed by Gilberto González, will conclude with an exhibition and a presentation of the catalogue.
The presentation of the catalogue of Fotonoviembre 17 will be at the end of June in TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes. The publication is comprised of two volumes, one dedicated to Kénosis, the official section of Fotonoviembre 17, and the other to Authors in Selection and Atlantic Collectives, a decentralized program of exhibitions around Tenerife. The volume of Kénosis contains a comprehensive documentation of the exhibitions and a collective narrative through the texts of the curatorial team, made up by Sigal Barnir, Lola Barrena, Néstor Delgado, Gilberto González, Mayte Henríquez, Charlotte Huddleston, Michy Marxuach and Fernando Pérez. The other volume covers the works of Diego Ballestrasse, Susan Dobson, Aurelia Frey, Pablo Guerra and Laura San Segundo and the large number of authors who participated in Atlantic Collectives.
A closing workshop/exhibition will be held in June 2018 at Centro de Arte Juan Ismael (Fuerteventura, Canary Islands). The workshop/exhibition presents different artistic research processes focused on the images produced by archeology to rewrite ideological discourses. The artists taking part in this exhibition will be Pérez y Requena, Michal Baror, Sofía Gallisá, Adrián Alemán, Silvia Navarro, Diego Ballestrasse, Equipo Neura, PIC and Francisco Rojas (Fachico).
Fotonoviembre 17 has functioned as an extraordinary knowledge exchange platform with workshops and conferences by Andrés Jaque, Diego del Pozo Barriuso, Raimond Chaves and Gilda Mantilla and Michal Baror, among others. A closing workshop titled Laboratorio de Acción will be held in September 2018 coordinated by Michy Marxuach and Néstor Delgado.
The International Photography Festival of Tenerife is organized by Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, the island council, under the aegis of Centro de Fotografía Isla de Tenerife, TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes.
