Transart Institute for Creative Research is accepting applications to all programs

Transart Institute for Creative research a global school without borders since 2004, offers low-residency MFA, new Doctor of Creative Arts and the only true low-residency PhD for creative practitioners (download our doctoral comparison chart). Exhibit, perform, screen and bond internationally. Critiques, encounters, excursions, symposia and workshops currently in New York, Berlin and Mexico City. 

Transart’s low-residency Doctor of Creative Arts, Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Fine Arts, Academy

The new Doctor of Creative Arts (DCA) is for anyone wishing to articulate, contextualise and further develop their praxis with a retrospective reflection to spark a major new body of work; culminating in a public exhibition, publication, performance or screening and guided written interpretation or exegesis. Enter year two of this three year program with an MFA or equivalent, earning a doctorate in two years or commence with partial completion of MFA or equivalent. Admissions deadline: December 15, 2017 (starting winter residency in Mexico City).

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is for those with a specific research project or question/s they want to examine in order to develop their work. The PhD is a self-directed, creative research-based project in which writing is an integral contributor, culminating in a public exhibition/dissemination of new work and thesis. PhD admissions deadline: December 15, 2017 (starting winter residency in Mexico City).

The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) is for everyone who wishes to deepen their praxis through a guided process of identifying, clarifying and articulating the theme/s that run through their work; contextualising and further developing their praxis; culminating in a process report and public dissemination of a body of work. Option to fast-track to second year of the DCA upon completion. MFA Admissions deadline: May 15, 2018.

Transart Academy is open to artists in other graduate programs, groups or individuals with seasoned practice. Select a la carte from one to six residency weeks in different cities over the year. Current program: https://www.transartinstitute.org/residencies#winter-2018

Your creative work is the research. Work in any creative genre or field from painting to sound, writing, mathematics or anthropology.

Current MFA and PhD accredited through Plymouth University, UK.
New PhD and DCA to be accredited through Western Sydney University, Australia.

Tuition
Choose your level of involvement through a la carte programming based on your interests, level of independence, time and budget. Minimum of one residency week/year, independant sessions with your advisors virtually or in person and chosen research/critique/topic group meetings.
