About Sculpt
Sculpt is Loris Gréaud’s second film. More than a long-feature film, Sculpt is a “urban legend,” carrying in its wake multiple narrations centered upon one man, acted by Willem Dafoe. With an “impossible” casting, Sculpt gathers together artists, actors, architects, extraordinary personalities such as Michael Lonsdale, Pascal Greggory, Charlotte Rampling, Betty Catroux, The Voodoo Queen Miriam Chamani, Claude Parent (1923–16) or Abel Ferrara… with an original soundtrack created by the legendary and mysterious band The Residents.
Sculpt was released first in 2016 at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) for one spectator at a time within the eponymous exhibition, then in series of clandestine evenings in Paris, Los Angeles, Rome, Berlin, Lausanne, Bern, etc. and on the Dark Web where the film continues to be disseminated.
Sculpt is an object of varying dimensions: there are indeed several edits of varying durations and the accompanying publication offers only one “potential” version. No visitor or spectator will therefore have the ability to comprehend the project in its entirety.
