#textwork
TextWork aims to foster and support the work of artists active in the French art scene through the publication of essays produced by French and international writers.
Available in both English and French, and extensively illustrated, these texts will be disseminated on the Ricard Foundation website and through prominent international critical platforms. For the majority of artists selected, TextWork will generate the first interpretive essay published on their work. Each commission will thus be an opportunity for an encounter between an experienced writer and an artist of the French art scene.
The artists selected for the launch of the project are Eva Barto, Neïl Beloufa, Emmanuelle Lainé, Laura Lamiel and Laurent Montaron.
The advisory group accompanying the project in 2017 comprises Mélanie Bouteloup, co-founder and director of Bétonsalon; Thomas Boutoux, writer, publisher and curator; and Marie Canet, independent curator, art historian and professor in aesthetics at École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon.
With this new program, initiated in partnership and with the support of the French Ministry of Culture, the Ricard Foundation reinforces its commitment of over 20 years to contemporary French creation.
