In the framework of Artissima will be presented the research on the experiences related to the practice of art education led by ZonArte Network, project of the Education Departments that shares the experiences common to the fields of participation and promotion of cultural contents in the main contemporary art museums of the Turin area. In the current phase of growth of this nationally- and internationally-unique project, these collected experiences are engendering a concrete interest in attitudes to methodology. Schools, academies and cultural institutions recognise in ZonArte an important reference point, acclaimed and distinguished for the quality of its programmes and the cross-institutional collaboration which it has sustained over the years. ZonArte, in its present eighth edition as a headline project of Turin’s Parco Arte Vivente (PAV) in 2017, systematises its research in the ZonArte_Manuale di Educazione all’Arte Contemporanea (Handbook of Education in Contemporary Art), an important tool for the study and in-depth analysis of the teachers, professionals and students who use and develop artistic languages by practice, experimentation and relationship.
Published by Prinp Editore, the ZonArte_Manuale di Educazione all’Arte Contemporanea contains examples of workshop practices and a collective reflection, enriched by contributions from the 2016 Education_Art/Contest, an open writing treatment held at the Artissima contemporary art fair in Turin. With the participation of artists, curators, educators, psychoanalysts, philosophers, pedagogues and anthropologists, it has refined and improved the “sense” of substantives which are part of the common lexicon of art critics. Words such as participation, space, relationship, time, value, legacy, culture, aesthetics, ritual and language are discussed, with contributions from, amongst others: Sergio Caretto, psychotherapist-psychoanalyst, Lacanian School; Nicola Ricciardi, curator and contemporary art critic, artistic director of OGR project in Turin; Emilio Fantin, artist; Franco La Cecla, anthropologist; and Tiziana Villani, philosopher.
ZonArte project’s network, supported by Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT of Turin, consists of the Education Departments of the main Turin institutions dedicated to the art of our times: Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Fondazione Merz, GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea and PAV Parco Arte Vivente – Centro sperimentale d’arte contemporanea, in collaboration with Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto.
Speakers: Flavia Barbaro and Giorgia Rochas (GAM), Orietta Brombin (PAV), Mario Petriccione (Fondazione Merz), Anna Pironti and Paola Zanini (Castello di Rivoli), Andrea Balzola (Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti), Daria Carmi (curator), Dario Salani (Prinp Editore), with special guest Fulvio Gianaria (Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT).
