Simonetta Moro, Rome; Venice, Italy
Italian-born artist and director of IDSVA, Simonetta Moro will give a walking-tour history of Classical Roman architecture and aesthetics, and lead students to the Venice Biennale. She will also participate in the IDSVA Athens symposium with a talk on the aesthetics of mapping.

Franco (Bifo) Berardi, Spannocchia Castle, Italy
Leading contemporary Italian philosopher and author of And: Phenomenology of the EndThe Uprising: On Poetry and Finance, and After the Future, Bifo Berardi will lecture on current European art and politics in relation to the concept of the Baroque.

Franca Marini, Spannocchia Castle, Italy
Italian international artist, Franca Marini will lecture on her artwork inspired by medieval Sienese painting, which will be exhibited at Kean University in November 2017. She is currently engaged in the creation of site-specific installations and video art on the theme of Transmigration and Immigration.

Howard Caygill, Berlin, Germany
Considered one of the most important European philosophers of our time, author of On Resistance: A Philosophy of Defiance, and Kafka: In the Light of the Accident (forthcoming), Howard Caygill will give a seminar on the aesthetics of Kant, Hegel, and Heidegger.

Elina Staikou, Athens, Greece
Associate Lecturer in Modern Liberal Arts at Winchester University, Elina Staikou is the author of Deconstruction at Home: Metaphors of Travel and Writing and of articles on contemporary philosophy, literature and biomedicine. She will participate in the IDSVA Athens symposium with a talk on migration and hospitality.

Giovanni Tusa, Athens, Greece
Philosopher, documentary filmmaker and video artist, Giovanni Tusa is currently a Visiting Lecturer in Philosophy and Critical Theory in institutions in Europe and the US. Co-author of De la Fin, with Alain Badiou (forthcoming). In the IDSVA Athens symposium he will discuss the political-philosophical implications of borders and mapping.

David Driskell, Colby College, Maine
The David Driskell Center for the Study of the Visual Arts and Culture and the African Diaspora is located at University of Maryland, College Park. Artist-philosopher, curator, and art historian David Driskell will lecture on how to look at a work of art.
