Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment beginning July 1, 2007. This position closely parallels a professorial tenure-track position. Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience based on UC pay scales. We seek an artist/educator with expertise in digital video production and post production with a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education. Additional background in digital photography or film would be welcome.
Primary responsibilities are undergraduate teaching in classes both large and small, advising, administrative coordination and lab supervision of our Media Major. While research activity is encouraged and supported, evaluation and promotion within the department centers on the contribution to educational activities.
The job will be in a broadly interdisciplinary arts department that includes studio, computing, media, art and media history, theory and criticism. MFA or equivalency and teaching experience are required.
