Tenured Associate Professor or Full Professor to begin July 1, 2007. Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience based on UC pay scales. We seek an outstanding artist who is committed to exploring new directions in visual arts and will contribute to intensive dialogue on contemporary issues in art. Candidates should have a distinguished exhibition record in areas that might include installation, mixed media, performance, painting, sculpture or within more hybrid practices.
UCSD is a research university that actively promotes and supports creative work within a broadly interdisciplinary arts department that includes studio, computing, media, art and media history, theory and criticism. Teaching will include both graduate seminars and undergraduate courses, large and small. The candidate will actively participate in the ongoing development of the curriculum. MFA or equivalency and teaching experience are required.
