California College of the Arts 2009 Graduate Thesis Events

California College of the Arts proudly announces its 2009 graduate thesis events, taking place this month and next, featuring the work of our graduating MFA, MArch, and MA students in Architecture, Curatorial Practice, Design, Fine Arts, and Writing.

Our graduates will enter a nation and a world that have changed unimaginably since they entered their respective fields of study two to three years ago. Marvelous new histories have been made, vast political terrains have shifted, and the collapse in global economic structures has us all bracing for the realities of our own brave new world.

Each graduating class presents an exciting exchange, and this year’s thesis events promise to deliver “the goods” in defiance of our somewhat fragmented and murky present. Thesis exhibitions are on the one hand a joyful culmination of graduate studio and research work, and on the other hand the end of unrestricted experimentations removed from the market’s gaze. With so many new and inventive solutions to that end, we prepare to send our graduate students off into the public sphere once again. Don’t miss these exciting previews of the many contributions they will make to contemporary discourse and practice.
