The IFC programme for overseas studies is a new course founded by CAFA and aims to prepare students who are interested in Fine Art and Design and wish to study in overseas colleges and universities of Art at undergraduate level. The programme aspires to set up and manage an educational entity which is both suitable to the characteristics and needs of the Chinese students, but also meet the requirements of overseas study. Through providing a high-quality education, we will prepare the students with the necessary academic and language capabilities required by overseas colleges of Art and Design.
The programme will take place on the CAFA campus which will enable the students to enjoy the exceptional resources and artistic atmosphere of the number one Art institution in China. The duration of the course is one year. On graduation from the course, students will be provided with opportunities to choose from over thirty majors provided by more than fifty prestigious Art colleges and schools from around the world.
The Role
The role will involve course delivery, assistance in the strategic development of the discipline, and the continual support and assessment of students throughout the course.
Duties and Responsibilities
• To work as part of a team of academics and be flexible and supportive of all programme activities;
• To undertake relevant responsibilities including: lesson planning, learning support material, tutorial, studio-based discussion, assessment and student portfolio preparation;
• To provide full academic support to assure maximum student potential is achieved.
Background Experience/Qualifications
The successful candidate should:
• Possess at least a master degree (or equivalent) in Fine Art or Design;
• Be able to demonstrate experience of practice and teaching experience related to Fine Art or Design and working experience within a Higher Education institution. The experience of working with Chinese students is preferred;
• Have excellent understanding of learning and teaching in relation to studio practice in Fine Art or Design;
• Have substantial knowledge of Fine Art or Design history and the supporting theoretical and historical contexts;
• Be familiar with the academic requirements of International Art institutions;
• Have experience of working internationally, being able to deliver the course in English;
• Have good IT skills.
