Master of ArtsCertificate: The Certificate program allows students to gain knowledge in modern art, connoisseurship and art market history without committing to a full-time degree. Along with other classes, Certificate students are enrolled in a seminar that combines classroom sessions with occasional field studies. These trips enable participants to develop basic connoisseurship skills, become familiar with the recent markets for various forms of art, and gain exposure to the larger New York art world.
Short Courses: Christie’s Education short courses are non-degree programs run in conjunction with Christie’s auction house that address topics as diverse as wine, jewelry and fine art. These courses include full-day master classes, evening lecture series, and study trips away from New York. Each class is designed to provide the participant with a unique, behind-the-scenes view of the art world.

About Christie’s Education
Christie’s Education New York has been designated as a degree-granting institution by the New York State Board of Regents. Our full-time graduate program in Modern Art, Connoisseurship and the History of the Art Market is registered with the New York State Education Department. Teaching methods are based on investigating works of art in order to train through direct exposure to art-world practice. Each piece of work a student undertakes is related to professional practice, from curatorial and acquisition report writing, to review writing and artifact analysis, as well as training in auction house cataloguing.
