The success of our program is best described as a “tradition of excellence.” The department was recently named one of the “Top Ten Digital Arts Schools in the World,” by ImagineFX magazine (UK) and in 2007, US News & World Report ranked us fifth in Multimedia/Visual Communications. Our graduates are employed by the most prestigious digital studios, including Industrial Light & Magic, Pixar, Disney, DreamWorks, Rhythm & Hues, Blue Sky Studios, Digital Domain, Sony Pictures Imageworks, MTV and Electronic Arts;others choose the entrepreneurship of their own businesses. Those who pursue fine art careers have exhibited their work in galleries and museums, including Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, P.S.1/MoMA, Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, European Media Art Festival, Tate Digital and Millennium Museum in Beijing.
Awards that have been bestowed upon our students include six Student Academy Awards from 2004 to 2009, two 2008 Adobe Design Achievement Awards, 2007 Webby Award, 2006 YouTube Award, SIGGRAPH Electronic Theater and Art Gallery, Prix Ars Electronica, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Inter-Society for Electronic Arts and the Leonardo Award for Excellence.
