Master of Arts in Modern Art, Connoisseurship and the History of the Art Market: This 15-month program focuses on the history of modern and contemporary art in Europe and the United States from 1850 to the present.
• Internship Program: A required internship allows students to gain the practical skills that will prepare them for a career in the art world. Christie’s Education helps students secure their internship by proposing a wide range of sites, including departments at Christie’s auction house, commercial galleries, museums, corporations, non-profit arts institutions and more.
• Professional Practices: This weekly panel brings students into contact with private dealers, gallerists, lawyers and critics. This course examines the structure of the art market as a business and introduces students to its key players, issues and terminology.
• Weekly field studies give students behind-the-scenes access to art production and conservation facilities, museums, private collections and artists’ studios.

Certificate in Modern Art, Connoisseurship and the History of the Art Market: The Certificate program allows students to gain knowledge in modern and contemporary art without committing to a full-time degree.
• This 9-month, part-time program is perfect for students wishing to balance their educational endeavors with other scheduling demands
• The Certificate program curriculum matches the needs of beginning collectors. Our Modern Art Survey course, Certificate Seminar, and Professional Practices panel provides the right balance of art history, connoisseurship skills, and exposure to the larger New York art world.
• The Certificate program is also geared toward returning professionals who are looking to apply previously acquired professional skills in an art world setting. Our Certificate students with legal, communications, insurance or business backgrounds have gone on to careers that combine their professional skill sets with their newly acquired knowledge of the art world.
