A joint exhibition with illy issimo and the School of Visual Arts.

The MFA Photography, Video and Related Media Department is also pleased to announce the finalists and New York City exhibition of the AuthentiCity contest. In partnership with illy issimo and Ilko Coffee International, the contest was aimed at young international artists who are SVA students or alumni. The artists were asked to use photography to explore the dynamics of urban life through photography. For the first round of the competition, approximately twenty semi-finalists were exhibited in Milan as part of the 2010 Salone del Mobile di Milano. Out of those artists, five received a commission to work over the summer and compete for a 10,000 USD prize. The finalists will be exhibited from October 2nd to the 10th in New York City during the New York Food and Wine Festival. The five artists to be exhibited include Carlos Alvarez Montero, Igor Aronov, Matt Baum, Giselle Behrens, and Caroline Shepard.
