European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA)11th ELIA Biennial ConferenceHEARTH – l’Art au Coeur du Territoirele lieu uniqueThe ELIA Biennial is the largest conference on Higher Arts Education worldwide, attracting 400-500 arts and culture professionals worldwide. This year, the festival coincides with the NEU/NOW Festival for emerging creative talent.
Keynote Speaker is Bernard Stiegler (President of Ars Industrialis and former Director of IRCAM).
Symposia sessions range from artistic research and creative entrepreneurship to reclaiming creativity and urban regeneration; from emergent social media and academic writing to transparency and the artist as intervener. Nine discipline sessions address educational developments in all main fields of art. A panel consisting of Patrick Acogny, Amina Dickerson, Shashikant Barhanpurkar, and Hanne Schmidt will discuss the outcomes at the closing plenary.
The conference marks ELIA’s 20th birthday, which will be celebrated in style at the opening with a gala dinner of which the menu is created by Eric Guérin, the chef of La Mare aux Oiseaux. The cultural programme includes choreographies by David Rolland and Emmanuelle Huynh, and a tour of the Estuaire Nantes < > Saint Nazaire.
