The Gretchen Hupfel Symposium is named for Gretchen Hupfel, a conceptually oriented artist who worked in many different disciplines.  She passed away in 2002 at the age of thirty-nine. This named lecture furthers the legacy of a passionate and remarkably talented artist and not only commemorates her death, but celebrates her life. This program is partially funded by a grant from the Delaware Humanities Forum, a state program of the National Endowment for the Humanities, as well as from the generous support of private donors. ASL interpretation and CART services are made available by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts.

This event follows the Raven Press Lecture, “Letterpress Libraries: How History Informs Contemporary Artists’ books,” by Kathleen Walkup, Professor and Director of the Book Art Program at Mills College, March 23, at the University of Delaware.
