Northumbria University is seeking to recruit an outstanding artist / academic researcher to provide strategic leadership of an innovative new collaboration between Northumbria University and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.
The BALTIC Professor will enhance the educational and research priorities of the School of Arts and Social Science, collaborate with key directorial, curatorial and education staff at BALTIC, and be the catalyst for forging partnerships with international organisations. The successful candidate will join Northumbria University and BALTIC at a key moment in their joint vision to create a genuine learning and research partnership with global significance and reach.
A highly visible research profile will be necessary to attract postgraduate students and lead the development of our new Institute of Contemporary Art. Reporting to senior members of the School Executive team and the BALTIC Director, the post-holder will seek to make a difference to the artistic and cultural landscape through dedicated research and scholarly activity, the delivery of excellence in learning and teaching, reflective professional practice, and knowledge exchange.
