California College of the Arts invites the public to visit its San Francisco and Oakland campuses to see the remarkable work of our students who are soon to be graduating. Help us cheer them on as they bring their undergrad and graduate careers to a close and get ready to embark upon their exciting future endeavors.
Events include everything from exhibitions to symposia, lectures, and fashion shows. Almost all of the events are free. Below is a summary. The full list is constantly being updated at cca.edu/upstart.

Graduating students in the Graduate Program in Curatorial Practice investigate the notion of the apology in contemporary art. Featured artists include Erick Beltran, Keren Cytter, Omer Fast, Shaun Gladwell, and Slavs and Tatars.

Graduating Visual and Critical Studies students share their thesis projects. Topics include the consumption of metaphorical bodies via art, violent videos authored by Mexican drug cartels and shared through social media, and the place of the natural history display in the 21st-century museum.

Humble Pie vol. 6 Launch Party

Humble Pie is CCA’s undergraduate literary arts journal, publishing poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and visual art. The evening will include readings by writers in the sixth edition, plus fresh, real-life pies a la mode, with crispy crusts.
