Sotheby’s Institute of Art offers insight into the international art world through its Short Courses and Public Programmes in London and New York. Designed for those wishing to strengthen their existing experience, as well as those pursuing a passion for the arts, these programmes provide unique opportunities for participants to gain professional skills and practical knowledge about a variety of art-related topics, such as art law, contemporary art practices, jewellery design, and much more. Courses are offered during the day and evening in both London and New York and are led by Institute faculty, international experts and leading practitioners in the field.

London – Sample Courses:
Art & Finance in a Global Market
Dates: 2, 3, 23, 30 October / 6, 13 November
Time: Wine Reception 6:15pm; Lectures 6:45–8pm
With the ever-increasing interest in investment in fine art, this timely and informative course explores the use and performance of fine art as a financial asset.
Frieze Art Fair
Dates: 10–12 October
Time: 10–5pm
This annual three-day short course coincides with the international Frieze Art Fair in London focusing on contemporary art, the art market, and collecting.
Jewellery Design: 1780 to 1980
Dates: 22–23 November
Time: 10–5pm
This two-day course highlights two centuries of jewelry craftsmanship and design and includes visits to both Sotheby’s auction house and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
New York – Sample Courses:
