The 12th ELIA Biennial Conference, hosted by the University of Applied Arts Vienna – Die Angewandte on 8–12 November 2012, has been established as a major event for a large number of institutes of higher arts education in Europe and beyond. Thanks to the MuseumsQuartier Wien, venue of the Biennial Conference, we will experience a highly enriching environment in an exciting city.
This year Yoko Ono will be joining a number of other luminaries including Matthias Horx, Isabel Mundry, Ute Meta Bauer and Shady ElNoshokaty.

In 2012 ELIA is adding a political dimension to the programme. A resolution will be made available to conference participants in advance of the event to stimulate discussion and encourage active engagement between arts and politics.
The ELIA Biennial, in addition to being a platform for dialogue and learning of the highest caliber, offers delegates a plethora of opportunities to disseminate their own work on an international scale, interact with colleagues in their own fields and beyond, and create a strong network of contacts to take home after the conference.
