Thinking about graduate school? Learn all you need to know. The free Grad School Expo and Open House hosted by The New School on Saturday, November 10, 2012, will guide you through the process of applying to graduate school and financing your education, as well as advancing or changing your career. Faculty members, admissions and career counselors, and New School graduate students will be on hand to answer your questions and give you an inside look at the distinguished certificate, master’s and doctoral degrees offered at The New School.
Architecture, media studies, digital design, nonprofit management, creative writing, interior design, fashion, design studies, urban design, and fine arts are just a few of the distinguished graduate programs offered at The New School. Many programs offer online studies including Strategic Design and Management, Design Business, Media Management and others.

9:30–10:15am
Early Bird Campus Tour (departs from 55 West 13th street)
Graduate students lead tours of The New School’s Greenwich Village campus. Visit classrooms, studios, libraries, computer labs, and other points of interest.
10:30–11am
Welcome Remarks And Grad School Expo Overview

Graduate Program Information Sessions (all except Parsons)
Typically held in an open forum; presentations by faculty and admission representatives followed by Q&A session.

Parsons The New School for Design Information Session
After an overview of the Parsons application process, individual program sessions are hosted by faculty members, who review the program curriculum and offer insight into Parsons rigorous academic environment, where creativity, critical thinking, and global perspectives on art and design are equally valued.
12:45–2pm
Graduate Admission & Financial Aid Workshop
Graduate Admission: Graduate admissions directors will offer useful strategies about the graduate application process in general and debunk the myths and mysteries surrounding these important topics. Questions addressed such as “What strengthens a student’s graduate application at The New School?” Additional topics include how to navigate the scholarship and financial aid process to your advantage, application requirements, personal essays, International transcripts and getting an effective recommendation.
