Every summer, Sotheby’s Institute of Art welcomes hundreds of passionate students from all over the world to our campuses in the great art capitals of London and New York. Taking full advantage of each city’s rich cultural offerings, our Summer Study courses enable students to enhance their knowledge of art and the international art market through dynamic classroom lectures and guided study visits to museums, galleries, auction houses, artist studios, private collections, and more. Our two- and four-week course offerings are led by Sotheby’s Institute faculty, leading art world scholars and professionals in the field.
Four-week Summer Study courses offer the most immersive experience on subjects ranging from art history, art business, contemporary art and more. Students who have taken these courses in the past include undergraduates seeking a London or New York experience, young professionals wishing to develop skills and expertise, and art enthusiasts eager for behind-the-scenes access to the international art world.Two-week courses give students a focused overview of specific subject areas related to art history, art business, collection management, fashion and other creative art disciplines.
