In July every year the Rundgang (tour) presents works by students in the Media and Fine Art (diploma I and II) course at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM). The exhibition shows young positions and current artistic processes, including numerous graduation projects from the areas of fine art, media art, film and video, sound, performance, scenography as well as bordering and overlapping fields. Site-specific work and installations, which have been created especially for the Rundgang, are complimented by studies and experiments from the academy’s laboratories and workshops. The animation studio, the sound laboratory and Lab3: the laboratory for experimental computer sciences, all open their doors to the Rundgang, enabling insights into their working processes.

The exhibition space stretches over various rooms around the KHM campus: the neighbouring Trinity church, the media/print libraries, the ateliers, studios, workshops and laboratories all along Filzengraben to Peter-Welter-Platz.

An extensive, curated film programme in the Aulakino presents films by students, seminar exercises from the areas of feature and documentary film, essay and animation film, experimental film and cinematography. Programme blocks start at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 pm and are moderated by professors and staff in discussion with the directors.

Guided tours, course guidance and child care will be also offered on these open days.
