Highlighting contemporary work that engages with real time, virtual time, historical time, recorded time, manipulated time, and the passage of time, the artists included in 0 to 60 blur the boundaries between art, craft, and design. Drawing upon elements of engineering, robotics, and computer software and using materials as diverse as steel wool, beads, paper cups, time-lapse video, and 24-karat gold, these artists utilize non-traditional media to encourage us to think about our experience of time in new and varied ways.
Co-organized by the North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh, North Carolina and Penland School of Crafts, Penland, North Carolina. Generous support provided by the Windgate Charitable Foundation and the Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. Additional support provided by the Fenwick Foundation, presenting sponsor.
