Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University seeks to fill the following two full-time, tenure track positions beginning fall 2014:

Associate Professor of Art – Media
The Visual Arts Department of Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, seeks an accomplished media artist specializing in contemporary media art practice and aesthetics. Responsibilities include teaching studio practice and critical seminars to all levels of undergraduate and graduate media students; assisting in the recruitment of media graduate and undergraduate students; serving on departmental and university committees; and evolving the media curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of critical theory as it pertains to media and emerging technologies.

He or she will have three years or more teaching experience with time-based media and related digital media techniques at college level.

Assistant Professor of Art – Sculpture
The Visual Arts Department of Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University seeks an accomplished sculptor. Ideal applicants will have a broad knowledge of traditional form, contemporary and interdisciplinary practice, expertise and techniques of the medium, including wood working, metal work and welding, plaster, casting, critical issues and installation. We seek candidates with demonstrated competence in several key areas, such as clay applications, willingness to contribute to 3-D Foundations curriculum development, and CAD technology. Responsibilities include: teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, serving on departmental and university committees, and continuing professional activity and/or scholarly research.

Candidates for the position must have the ability to teach all levels of sculpture including advanced undergraduate and graduate courses. Applicants must be able to develop curriculum and advise graduate teaching assistants.

MFA or equivalent and a minimum of three years teaching experience at college level or equivalent required. Substantial national and international exhibition also required.
