IDSVA offers a unique global-residency/digital ed PhD in Philosophy and Art Theory to visual artists, architects, curators, and creative scholars. Led by internationally recognized faculty and scholars, our residency sites include Rome, Spannocchia Castle (Tuscany), Siena, Florence, Berlin, Venice (the Biennale), Paris, New York City, Istanbul and Brown University.

We currently have two seats remaining for July 2014 enrollment. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis.

How to apply
An application consists of:
– online application form
– current curriculum vitae
– statement of intent, minimum of 750 words
– one writing sample
– artist statement of no more than 500 words (for holders of the MFA)
– ten to twenty images or other documentation of creative practice (for holders of the MFA)
– three letters of recommendation
– official sealed copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts.
