The Art Department at the University of Oregon is accepting applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Photography, and an Assistant Professor in Painting and Drawing. Both positions are tenure-related, with salary commensurate with experience.
For the Painting and Drawing position, applicant should have a thorough knowledge of contemporary painting and drawing practices, art history and theory. Position expectations include a significant and ongoing creative practice, and engaged teaching and service. The position requires undergraduate and graduate teaching (five courses/year), with primary responsibilities for painting and drawing courses, as well as opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching.
For the Photography position, applicant should have demonstrable knowledge in a range of traditional, experimental and extended photographic forms and be interested in contributing to an established and progressive Art Department. The successful candidate should have broad knowledge of the scholarship in the field of art including critical histories and theories of photography. The position requires undergraduate and graduate teaching, with primary responsibilities for photography courses, as well as opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching. Position expectations include a significant and ongoing creative practice, teaching and service.
Start date is September 16, 2015. MFA, active professional practice and college teaching experience required. See full position announcements on UO jobs page.
