Emily Jacir
Wednesday, March 25, 6:30pm
O’Donnell Hall, Owen Arts Center
Emily Jacir creates works about transformation, questions of translation, resistance and the logic of the archive. Her projects uncover silenced historical narratives and explore concerns such as movement and migration through a diverse range of media and strategies including film, photography, social interventions, installation, performance, video, writing and sound.
Jason Salavon
Monday, April 20, 6:30pm
Room B600, Owen Arts Center
Using software processes of his own design, Jason Salavon generates and reconfigures masses of communal material to present new perspectives on the familiar. Often, the final compositions are exhibited as art objects—such as photographic prints and video installations—while others exist in a real-time software context.
