MRes Art: Exhibition Studies offers a unique approach to the history of contemporary art, re-writing it through the study of key developments in the exhibition form. Delivered in collaboration with Afterall, the art research and publishing organisation based at Central Saint Martins.
MRes Art: Moving Image is the first of its kind developing new discourses in one of the fastest growing visual arts contexts, artists’ moving image. Founded on strong links with LUX, the leading UK agency supporting practice in this field. Includes access to the British Artists Film and Video Study Collection at CSM which houses over 5,000 moving image works by artists and a range of unique research materials.
MRes Art: Theory and Philosophy incorporates introductory and specialist units relevant for artists, writers and arts and humanities’ graduates. The pathway addresses art from a contemporary perspective, embracing ideas from continental philosophy and the Marxist intellectual tradition to psychoanalytic and gender theories. The pathway is a leading forum for public talks and discussions with well known thinkers and cultural commentators, and collaborates with independent publisher Three Letter Words.
