Priority deadline: February 1, 2016
PNCA
511 NW Broadway
Portland, OR 97209
Applications are now open for PNCA’S MFA in Print Media program, a flexible 60-credit, two-year program that facilitates a studio practice that is both independent and collaborative. Print Media’s Studio is an epicenter of intense making, professional collaboration, and creativity, crossing pathways into industry, research, commercial applications, education, and the broad fields of fine art and design. Print Media supports the idea that a print can be an image or an object, or can take on site-specific concerns.
The Print Media program provides studio spaces and labs supporting intaglio, lithography, letterpress, bookmaking, monotype, screen-printing, and relief, as well as a fabrication lab that supports creative approaches with CNC machines along with experimental work on vinyl cutters and large-format ink-jet printers. Print Media students can also work within Watershed, PNCA’s professional fine art publishing program, welcoming visiting artists and professional printers to collaborate on editions and projects with students.
Supporting the Print Media program is the Jordan D. Schnitzer Exhibition and Visiting Artist Lecture Series, which brings curated exhibitions from the collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation to PNCA, and invites the exhibited artists to engage students, faculty and the public through lectures, studio visits, and collaborations with Print Media.
