The Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm seeks to appoint two full-time positions: Professor of Fine Art with an Emphasis on Sculpture and Installation and Professor of Fine Art with an Emphasis on Exhibition Strategies and Publishing. The positions involve teaching and supervision of students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as possible supervision of PhD candidates. The professorships include time for research. The candidates will be expected to fully participate in curricular developments and engage in all other work-related aspects of the institution. Preference will be given to candidates whose own interests, knowledge, and practice synthesize a wide range of interdisciplinary influences.
The field of Exhibition Strategies and Publishing involves expanding the existing formats for showing and disseminating work as part of an artistic practice. It also deals with the way in which publishing and editorial approaches–printed matter in particular–can be fundamental in how art is produced, presented and disseminated.
Both professorships are targeting practicing artists.
Both appointments are for five years and may be extended for another five years by the RIA without being re-advertised.
