A nine month studio residency award for an experienced contemporary artist from September 2017–May 2018, located in NCAD’s postgraduate facility, the Annex, James Street. The successful recipient will also contribute to the MFA Fine Art programme.

MFA Fine Art programme

TheMFA Fine Art programme seeks artists who wish to advance their practice and engage with critical issues in contemporary art and theory. The MFA is committed to a rigorous exploration of how art makes meaning today. We offer generous studio space in the Annex postgraduate facility with specialist and cross disciplinary teaching across the areas of painting, moving image, print, media, sculpture and expanded practices. The two year programme includes modules in Contemporary Art Practices, Key Theories and Art Writing. There are regular exhibition opportunities and study trips with a major final exhibition. Recent visiting lecturers include John Gerrard, Hayley Tompkins, Fergus Feehily, Gerard Byrne, Uri Aran, Amanda Coogan, David Godbold, Níamh McCann, Tessa Giblin, Mairead O h’Eocha.
