The famous chef Ferran Adrià of restaurant elBulli in Roses ignited a revolution in the culinary world. Many know of his practice that defied conventions of taste: his dishes featured unlikely combinations of ingredients, mixed a wide range of styles, and introduced radical cooking techniques. Only a few realize that he prepared his innovations in the visual domain, in sketches, drawings, diagrams, and symbols, and in designs for dishware, tumblers, and cooking utensils. The exhibition at Marres, its only venue in Europe, is devoted to this creative seedbed of modern cooking. Please book a slot for your visit to Ferran Adrià: Notes on Creativity here. Originally curated by The Drawing Center (New York), Ferran Adrià: Notes on Creativity has been specially adapted and expanded for this presentation at Marres, House for Contemporary Culture.
Dom Pérignon is the presenting partner of the exhibition. Additional support was provided by the Province of Limburg, the Institut Ramon Llull, Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), VSBfonds, BankGiro Loterij Fonds, and Lavazza.
