Manuel Saiz started working as an artist in the 1980s, creating paintings, sculptures, photography, and installations. Since then, he has been shown regularly in public and commercial galleries worldwide. Since 1995 he mainly produces video art and media installations. His latest major art project was One True Art in 2013, a thorough research on the nature of art, commissioned by the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid. He has curated art projects as Art Summer University (Tate Modern London), Communicating Vessels (Hara Museum Tokyo), 25hrs or videoDictionary. He has published several art theory books, such as Art and the Rest (Asimétricas, 2017), and the recent The Resistible Expansion of the Ironic Universe (Pretextos, 2021; City of Valencia Essay Award 2020).
