MALBA

MALBA, the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires, is a non profit organization founded by Eduardo Costantini in September, 2001. It ‘s mission is to collect, conserve, study and create awareness of Latin American art from the early 20th Century to the present. It’s permanent collection comprises more than 700, including leading figures such as Xul Solar, Emilio Pettoruti, Antonio Berni, Joaquín Torres-García, Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Tarsila do Amaral, Wifredo Lam, Roberto Matta, María Martins and Remedios Varo.

Malba is a dynamic and interactive cultural arena where temporary exhibitions of a very diverse nature (joint undertakings with other museums, international collections and similar foundations from around the world) and exhibitions of contemporary Argentinean and Latin American art are presented. The Museum also organizes a variety of literary activities, such as encounters with writers, courses, seminars, literary talks, book presentations and other events.
