Advance your career as an artist. The Art Students League of New York’s Career Development Program is a fully funded, intensive four-week course designed to furnish students with the skills, connections, and experiences necessary to strengthen their footing in the art world.
Led by the renowned painter Marc Dennis, participants will work one-on-one with Dennis to identify their individual goals as artists and discuss how to achieve them through on-site visits with leading New York City gallerists and other art world professionals. Hear from various experts who will provide practical career advice and answer your questions to better prepare you for the general to specific challenges of succeeding in the art world.
Topics include: Seeking gallery representation / Building a web and media presence / Applying for grants and residencies / Navigating contracts and copyright / Writing your artist’s statement / Photographing and packing your work
The fall 2023 Career Development Program will take place in October and November. This program meets twice a week for four weeks. Specific weeks to be announced.
We strongly encourage all interested artists to apply. Portfolios will be reviewed and students will be selected by Dennis himself.
This is a unique opportunity that gives ambitious artists access to the advice, tools, and connections that will allow them to build a successful career, at no additional cost to them.
Apply via Submittable.
This program is funded by a generous contribution from Dr. Andrew Jacono.
