L’équation de L’eau (A equação de água)
Suggested by Jean-Yves Vigneau, L’équation de l’eau (A equação de água) approaches in its own way the theme chosen for that fifth edition of Vento Sul: Big water : the Altered Maps. The artist sets up a “mental representation of water, of scientific appearance, with seemingly no emotion, as would be a map or a plan. However, far from an arid formula, L’équation de l’eau becomes, once set on the lake where the Curitiba opera house is reflected, a screen or a mirror where everyone gets to read his own reflections. It coats itself in poetry and artistic references while stretching out at the bottom of the bridge like Monet’s water lilies in Water Lily Pond”.
