Open call for a three-year Conference Programme
Application deadline: July 1, 2019
The Lisbon Architecture Triennale joins forces with the Garagem Sul – Centro Cultural de Belém to promote an international Open Call to select a curator for a new architecture conference programme, taking place in Lisbon between 2020 and 2022. The announcement of the winning proposal is due to September 2019 and the first lecture is scheduled for March 2020.
Who wants to curate this cycle?
Architects, critics, curators and scholars are invited, as individuals or duo, to submit until the 1st July 2019, a proposal for a cycle of twelve conferences hosted in Lisbon.
We are looking for a challenging approach to the conference format within architecture, engaging various generations and authors with a body of work developed in diverse geographic contexts. A programme focusing on subjects that are highly relevant to society nowadays, addressing to major current issues of contemporary architecture.
The aim is to present several perspectives within today’s architectural thinking, gathering in Lisbon the most relevant European players and bringing audiences closer to the ongoing debates. Check the guidelines here.
Previous editions
This future conference series will merge the two previous conference programs that have been carried out in collaboration between the Lisbon Architecture Triennale and Garagem Sul - CCB: Critical Distance cycle since 2011 and Garage Conferences since 2017. A lot more happened and we had invited outstanding speakers during these cycles.
Who will choose the winner proposal?
Irina Davidovici as an invited consultant and André Tavares, José Mateus, Madalena Reis and Manuel Henriques, representatives of Lisbon Architecture Triennale and Garagem Sul.
