–views the teaching of art as an element of artistic practice and demonstrates a teaching strategy that successfully integrates the theoretical foundation for such an approach
–is adept at developing students’ teaching skills based on a knowledge of artistic processes and practices
–experiments with new methods and approaches in art education in the context of artistic practice, discussing such methods and approaches as part of the student learning process

Candidates are expected to demonstrate social competencies, leadership skills and gender competence as well as to participate in academic self-governance.

Further requirements of the position are defined under Section 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz of 15 June 2017).

Additional qualifications of the candidates are

–experience in curatorial or collaborative projects
–active participation in current debates in the field of art education
–network of contacts with national and international art and cultural organisations
–specialist knowledge in one or more potential career paths open to students with a qualification in Fine Art and Art Education
