Aotea – It’s our Fault Too
May 15–29, group exhibition curated by Petri Saarikko, Te Whare Hēra gallery
This show will explore the site-specific context of Te Whare Hēra’s location on Clyde Quay Wharf, near the earthquake fault lines that pepper the region.

Public lecture by Sasha Huber
June 26, NZ Portrait Gallery
Sasha Huber has used an air-powered industrial staple gun to create detailed, shimmering imagery of people and species that have been subjected to assassination and eradication for political, ethnic, ideological or economic reasons. This project furthers her “Shooting Stars” (2014–) series and creates a new work, God Save the Huia. She will talk about her practice at 1pm on June 26.

Agassiz Down Under
July 7–22, exhibition by Sasha Huber, Te Whare Hēra gallery
The exhibition will feature a selection of works made during the residency including the New Zealand manifestation of the ongoing Demounting Louis Agassiz project. Sasha Huber has been focusing on sites in the Southern Alps named after the controversial Swiss-born naturalist and glaciologist Louis Agassiz (1807–73), who was a proponent of scientific racism and a pioneering thinker of apartheid. German geologist Sir Johann Franz “Julius” von Haast named two sites in New Zealand after his friend and colleague Agassiz.

Rongoā/Remedies
Forthcoming publication by Sasha Huber and Petri Saarikko
In the New Zealand iteration of the ongoing Remedies project, Sasha Huber and Petri Saarikko are exploring methods of self-help and medical healing in different geographical and cultural contexts.
