A Hacker Manifesto: 20th Anniversary Remix

McKenzie Wark is the author, among other things, of A Hacker Manifesto (Harvard), Gamer Theory (Harvard), The Beach Beneath the Street (Verso), and Raving (Duke). She teaches at The New School in New York City. She edited the “trans | fem | aesthetics” issue of eflux journal and coedited the “Black Rave” issue, with madison moore.

Nick Bazzano is a DJ, nightlife copywriter, event producer, and vibe curator who specializes in pretty much every room of the rave, including the bathroom. He was part of Brooklyn’s infamous queer rave collective UNTER from 2016 until 2023, and currently DJs and curates rave activations both solo and as part of the duo Pure Immanence with Kiddo Sincere. Nick is also a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Performance Studies at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where he will be defending his dissertation, Techno-Sonic Modulations: Topological Performativity and Strategic Rave Praxis, later this year.
