MALT AIR is a new visual arts residency programme in Denmark for professional international artists.
The residence is located in a new cultural centre in and around Maltfabrikken. This iconic factory has been closed for many years and is presently being transformed into a hub for art, culture and creativity, in a welcoming local community. The new residency buildings offer apartments, studios and workshop facilities and the residents have access to a wide variety of functions and cultural activities in Maltfabrikken.
The residency is run in collaboration between Maltfabrikken, The Danish Art Workshops and Kunsthal Aarhus, and is supported by The Danish Arts Foundation. These institutions have collaborated to create a high-quality residency for professional international artists with attractive living and working facilities, and a broad network within the Danish art scene. The purpose of MALT AIR is to to foster exchanges between the residing artist and the Danish contemporary visual arts scene and support the development of the resident’s artistic practice.
