Rehanging
from March 3, 2019 / permanent
After more than 11 years since the public opening of the Collection, ten galleries on the second floor of the permanent exhibition will undergo a change, presenting a highlight of ten recent projects and commissions presented from 2008 to 2017. This series of small “solo shows” will give an overview of the work in progress pursued by the Maramotti Collection, through the invitation of young and mid-career Italian and international artists to make a new corpus of works, which will then become part of the collection.

Helen Cammock
October 13, 2019–February 2020
Helen Cammock is the winner of the 7th edition of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women, in collaboration with Whitechapel Gallery. Her winning proposal for the Prize focuses on the expression of lament. Reflecting a central aspect of her work, Cammock will focus on how emotion is expressed in Italian culture. She will explore hidden female voices across Italian histories, aiming to create a collective lament reflective of our own time. The exhibition will include video, performance, photographs, etching and an artist’s book.
Mona Osman
October 13, 2019–February 2020
Mona Osman is a young UK-based painter. Her paintings enter into a narrative with each other, each work responding to another in the same manner as the figures inside them mutually relate. With references to Klimt, Mondrian and Ensor, and using closely related signifiers, Osman searches for a universal thread through which connecting or understanding becomes possible, while at the same time seeking an inner logic that is potentially shared. She will produce a new project for the Collezione, taking inspiration from existential philosophers and the Bible.
