Pipeline magazine

www.pipelinemag.com

The publication serves as a brainstorming platform for artists, art researchers, curators and art lovers, with an open mind and room for the underrated and the non-established, always committed to serious art making but not in an academic way. The magazine’s name comes from its effort to bridge artists from East and West, and to connect the different types of curatorial thinking and aesthetic appreciation across the globe, as well as the commercial (adopted with probity) with the noncommercial: everything that makes up the reality of today’s art world.

Some issues offer a stage for artists and experimental initiatives (current March/April issue) while others wonder about the relevance of national representations (upcoming May/June issue). All issues aim at linking different contemporary art practices internationally, while being based in Asia. Pipeline is published six times a year by independent publishing house Double Pipe Publishers (other titles include the Hong Kong Gallery Guide, with a new illustrated edition this May).

Artists who we have written about or who have written in Pipeline include 223, Nadim Abbas, Vernon Ah Kee, Leo Allenda, Jowhara Alsaud, Song-Ming Ang, Gehad Anwar, Isabel & Alfredo Aquilizan, Nur Azam Ismail, Santiago Bose, Mohamed Bourouissa, David Boyce, Jonny Briggs, Bùi Công Khánh, Edward Burtynsky, Cai Jin, Bea Camacho, Jim Campbell, Movana Chen, Nana Chen, Chris (Honhim) Cheung, Mat Chivers, Eiffel Chong, Heman Chong, Chow Chun Fai, Tiffany Chung, Chun Kai Feng, Claire Fontaine, Bin Cole, Mie Cornoedus, Vuk Ćosić, Cui Xiuwen, Naia del Castillo, Meg Cranston & John Baldessari, Destiny Deacon & Virginia Fraser, Pascal Dombis, Fiona Foley, Frog King, Gao Brothers, John Gerrard, Peter Granser, He Chengyao, Ho Tzu Nyen, Samuel Indratma, Jia Aili, Jiang Pengyi, IK-Joong Kang, Yuk King Tan, Hilary Koob-Sassen, Aaron Taylor Kuffner, Brenda L.
