In Primo Piano
Felice Levini and H.H. Lim text by Angelo Capasso
“Levini and Lim’s performance in Campo de’ Fiori is at the center of a new wave of transformations that continue today. The two artists, disguised in a carnival style as ‘the cat’ and ‘the fox,’ infiltrate the crowd of the Roman nightlife and expose themselves as disturbing element. It’s a work that interweaves action, narration, irony, tautology, thought and form. Not a simple conceptual recovery of the styles of the golden years of the ‘second avant-garde,’ but a hybrid that enters the world and looks at it with global gaze, according to a reality-based scale, and in search for a new golden thread to leap over the previous era.”
–Angelo Capasso

Darren Bader text by Alessandra Troncone
“From the elusiveness of Bader’s (post)production, the most urgent and, in part, unresolved questions in contemporary art emerge: authorship, originality, attribution of economic attribution, as well as the role of institutions in the process of art legitimization. Bader touches on all of them like a juggler, handling these blazing balls, keeping them suspended for the perfect amount of time to avoid burning. Like a magician, he makes cards vanish underneath one another, amusing while dazing those who try to keep up with him.”
–Alessandra Troncone
