Künstlerhaus Bethanien is an internationally renowned forum for contemporary art in Berlin. Established in 1974 as an artist-in-residence programme with workspaces for professional artists and exhibition spaces, it is dedicated to the advancement of contemporary visual arts and artists.
As part of its residency scheme, it aims to establish a lively dialogue between artists from various backgrounds and disciplines, and the public at large. To achieve these goals, the Künstlerhaus Bethanien organises a wide scope of events ranging from monthly exhibition openings to private and public studio visits, the Open Studios.
We are pleased to announce this year’s second Open Studios event on July 6, from 7–10pm. The artists participating in the International Studio Programme will open their studios to the public to provide insight into their artistic practice and current projects.
The following artists will be looking forward to your visit:
Orawan Arunrak (Thailand), Ryu Biho (Korea), Åsa Cederqvist (Sweden), Joey Fauerso (USA), Julie Favreau (Canada-Québec), Muriel Gallardo (Chile), Kanako Hayashi (Japan), Elizabeth Hoak-Doering (Cyprus), Aneta Kajzer (Poland), Minkyung Kam (Korea), Tomoko Kawai (Japan), Laura Letinsky (Canada), Emilija Skarnulyte (Lithuania), Tracey Snelling (USA), Miloš Trakilović (Netherlands), Tomoyuki Ueno (Japan).
The event goes along with the opening of the exhibition Falkenrot Preis 2017 / Andreas Schmitten (curated by Christoph Tannert) at 7pm, which will be shown in our gallery spaces July 6 till September 17, 2017 (opening hours: Tuesday–Sunday 2–7pm).
